Aim of our Masters programmes

Our primary aim is to provide a learning experience which will maximise your employability in a competitive job market and, subsequently, accelerate your career progression. In addition, a significant number of our Masters graduates find these programmes an excellent preparation for PhD study.

asdMScs in Petroleum Geoscience

The University of Manchester is one of the largest Petroleum Geoscience research and teaching facilities in the UK.  To accommodate our sustained growth and the increase in applications, we have developed the course structure to offer two innovative courses, which also reflect the demands of the oil and gas industry, and the academic profile of entrants.

asdMSc in Pollution and Environmental Control

The programme is designed to meet the growing need, internationally, for scientists who are able to understand and solve environmental problems. Since most environmental problems are interdisciplinary in nature, the MSc Pollution and Environmental Control is founded upon a variety of environmental science, engineering and social science disciplines. It was established over 20 years ago, and now has an international status, attracting students, mainly with good first degrees in a science or engineering discipline, from all parts of the world. Key employers of graduate from this course include companies and public enterprise, central and local government, consultancies and education and research.

asdMasters Course in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management (MESPOM)

The MESPOM Consortium aims to advance a truly European perspective on environmental studies by combining Nordic, Mediterranean, Western and Central European scholarly and practical traditions and approaches. The Consortium partners have more than 50 years of combined experience in delivering interdisciplinary environmental Masters courses to international students, complementary core competencies (CEU - in environmental policy in transition countries, Lund University - in preventive environmental strategies, the University of Manchester - in pollution control, and the University of the Aegean - in sustainable development of islands and isolated areas) creating a solid platform for a high quality, truly integrated and globally relevant Masters Course.
