Funding / Scholarships – UK / EU Students
PESGB Scholarship: This is offered by the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain. It pays £10,000 towards the costs of the course. Again if you wish to apply please note this on your application form.
If you wish to apply for either scholarship, which are awarded on a merit basis, please indicate this on your application.
BP scholarships: two places are funded on the MSc course by BP. This covers the course fees and £8500 towards living costs, and also offers the potential for an internship in BP to undertake the final research projects. Applications should be received by 25th February, and interviews will be held on 16 March 2011 at our MSc Petroleum Geoscience Open Day.
Other funds:
Full or partial tuition scholarships and bursaries are sometimes available from the University of Manchester for UK/EU students.
Students can also obtain funds from a variety of sources, including grants and loans, for further details of ways to fund postgraduate studies go to the University website here.
Funding / Scholarships - Overseas Students
Details of funding for overseas students is available on the University website. Students may also apply for the UK Government Chevening Scholarship.
Nigerian students in the past have attended the course having been awarded Exxon or Shell scholarships (you should contact the companies directly in Nigeria for details)/ We also have a number of PTDF Scholars each year, and again these awards are made in Nigeria and you should apply directly to PTDF.
Other grants will be announced on the website as and when they are received.
